UBC’s Balanced Budget

March 5, 2010

I got 6 emails from UBC related things yesterday. One of them, I actually read the entire way through. Including the attachment. Astounding, I know. What sort of information could possibly get me to read an entire email?

  • Love letter from Taylor Loren? I wish.
  • @bowtiebrian and @zeevp are now following me on Twitter? Hopefully soon.
  • UBC will have a balanced budget for the 2010-2011 year? Yes!! Clicky on to see a picture too!

Everybody has a blog these days…

March 4, 2010

Back in my day… nobody had a blog, MSN Messenger was freaking awesome, and Facebook was only for the University elite.

A lot has changed in the past few years, and now our UBC Admin have a blog. Zee VP Finance, Pierre Ouillet,  says “adopting social media is another example of the powerful transformation continuing to take place at UBC. Openness, transparency, broad dialogue in a context of quiet confidence about who we are and where we are going.”

Hmm… voting irregularities?

March 3, 2010

731 votes from one IP in the AMS Elections. Apparently VFM, Senate, and the successful referendum were affected, but none of the Exec races are in question.

This just in…

December 9, 2009

Spotted, this afternoon…

“There was shit going down at MASS and all the AUS people were freaking out about something new Blake did.”

Is Blake being a little too accountable with his tweets and Facebook statuses? I’ll await his response to elaborate….

Something to ponder…

December 5, 2009

Fact: The 2009-2010 AMS Budget lists $800 allocated to the President for “Partnership Building.”

Wonder what that’s going to?

Council meeting. Monday. 4pm. Be there. Should be fun.

Hopefully it’ll be over by 9, so I can get home and watch the last Gossip Girl episode until next year.

AMS Special Meeting – 5pm Saturday

November 26, 2009

There will be an special meeting at 5pm on Saturday, where it’s expected that the UN complaint will be retracted, and there will be a call for Blakey and Timmy to resign. Either than, or impeachment.

Thanks Justin McElroy!

Seriously?

November 26, 2009

and I thought I was poor at time management… WTF Blake? Why?? WHY??

From the Ubyssey website:

“The AMS [or Blake acting alone, as the Ubyssey Twitter states] has filed a complaint to the United Nations regarding the federal and provincial government’s failure to meet obligations to provide accessible post-secondary education for international students.”

More witty banter on this later… if I stay sober tonight (so probably tomorrow).
